Adventures in babysitting

You know, with how great Nim's been since last night, I thought - given the nice and cool weather - it would be great to just sit out in the backyard in the gazebo and just read while she curls up in her bowl and enjoys the breeze.

It's Nim. I should have known better.

I didn't even get a chance to sit down. The little bitch heard some phantom noise and tore out of the gazebo, promptly following this with running around the backyard, then crossing into the neighbours' backyard. In which she proceeded to make me chase her. Thrice. Around that backyard.

Once I screamed at her and got her back into our backyard, I had to chase her again (only once though) before dragging her back inside.

What the FUCK, Nim?! You're supposed to be POST-OP.

Doggy laughs at your expectations.

I know. And the thing is, the little bitch is really good and getting me to forgive her, too. Argh, I'm so whipped.

Has anybody moved in next door yet? Might be a good idea to consider getting a new fence between your two yards.

No, not yet. I think once that happens Mom and them will have to split the cost.

Maybe even just put up some wooden boards and tie them up on your side.

Yeah, it was like that. She's small; she still got through.

Maybe something more solid like ply wood?

"Post-op" means something different for many of my friends.

[identity profile] yukinoomoni.livejournal.com 2010-06-30 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
post-operation? That's what I meant.

[identity profile] resonant.livejournal.com 2010-06-30 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Many of my friends have surgery to make their physical appearance match their real sex. In their case, "pre-op" and "post-op" mean before and after this surgery. Like Nimawoooeway, they're often friskier and more active after surgery, as their outer bits now match who they really are, and they feel more confident.

Well, okay. But Nim didn't have that kind of surgery. She just got poked a lot and almost died a few times.

Maybe she's just happy to be alive.

Maybe Nim is having a mid-life crisis?

[identity profile] yukinoomoni.livejournal.com 2010-06-30 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm...Well, she is something like, what, in her sixties in terms of dog-human years, so maybe this is her way of lashing out against ageing, but come on. COME ON. SHE HAS HAD FIVE LUMPS REMOVED, ATE A CHOCOLATE CAKE, A MYRIAD OF ULTRASOUNDS, IVS, AND NEEDLES, AND NOW THIS, AND SHE FEELS THE NEED TO CELEBRATE BY PRANCING AROUND THE BACKYARDS LIKE A HORSE?!

I KNOW I WOULD! :O

Ah, kids are so energetic these days.
