Bored

Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] avocado_love.

Name a character and I'll tell you three (or more) facts about them from my own personal headcanon.

I know I've done this before, but I'm bored and need a distraction. Just make sure I know the fandom before you name someone =O

Oh, I thought it was because he was a tool. :P

I was gonna go with Suki, but since someone else already did... Zuko. :)

Shadow Raiders...I figure the Prison Planet characters leave a lot of room for headcanon, as you know less about their pasts than some of the more established cast. I'm gonna say Jewelia or Sternum? Or both if you like!

What the crap is a headcanon? It sounds like something Inspector Gadget would have installed. And I pick Ranma, from Ranma 1/2.

Like R2-D2 in Star Wars?

[identity profile] yukinoomoni.livejournal.com 2011-03-14 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
1. She remains travelling with Aang for, like, ever (although it IS my headcanon that they break up at least once, because Katara is a ball of issues and has a lot of trouble with deep love - and especially with the fear of losing those she loves deeply).
2. She's instrumental in establishing women's rights in the Norther Water Tribe - not to abolish all traditions, but to give women the choice - for once.
3. Her self-righteousness still powers her through her life - and often gets her into trouble just as often.

1. Despite his shaky start, Zuko becomes a master at politics. His temper always will need work, but by watching both his father and his sister, he knows exactly what not to do.
2. He still goes igcognito from time to time, to let loose of course - but also to keep close to his people, to really know what continues to go on, to come face-to-face with what his rule really means for the average person (and to be a crime-fighting ninja, lol).
3. He makes it a habit to visit Azula at least once a week. To him, it's his way of redemption for, however indirectly, breaking her. It also allows him to keep, in some way, close to his mother.

*This*! :D *Applies it to headcanon as well* :3

[livejournal.com profile] l_bea beat me to Jade, so I'll go with Graveheart. :)

[identity profile] yukinoomoni.livejournal.com 2011-03-14 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Prison Planet, general:
1. Most of the criminals are actually peace-advocates. They were sent away to keep their mouths shut, to keep any formal uprising from happening to stop the wars.
2. The torture implements were originally used to break the bright spirits, the confidence and hope, of all of the prisoners. Insane prisoners are easier to control than determined prisoners.
3. The planet actually was a planet once - misfires and incorrect handling of the warp engines broke it apart, and only the small shard remains.

Sternum:
1. He was a rather accomplished leader, hellbent on organising the armies and forces into something far more reliable. It was less about power and more about success.
2. He always had trouble with relationships. His ambitions often kept him too busy to either look or care. Jade was probably the first real woman - despite being outside of his species - who attracted him.
3. Eventually he does forgive Graveheart for being the man Jade loves, and they do become great friends - their bond usually cemented by their exasperation of Femur.

Jewelia:
1. She crash-landed alright - from Planet Rock. Her unusual looks made her a pariah, which was why she sought to find a place of solitude - and ended up on the Prison Planet by mistake.
2. Sternum and she were lovers - for a while. But it turned sour when all she wanted was power, and all he wanted was peace.
3. Her solitude on Rock always made her slightly insane, and being accepted as a war-leader kept that insanity at bay. It was only when it became clear that everything she had worked for, everything she had sacrificed, had ended up for nothing, and she still ended up back on Rock, was when the last string broke.

I like Katara. I think she's complex and interesting. I find her being a fandom bicycle distastful most times, mostly because she does have such intense issues. She's one that I think would have to take a lot of time finding herself - both with and without Aang (but Aang, being Aang, would always wait with and for her, no matter what).

[identity profile] ladyhadhafang.livejournal.com 2011-03-14 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
This! :D

[identity profile] yukinoomoni.livejournal.com 2011-03-14 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
No she didn't. Here!

Jade:
1. She didn't come from a militant family. Joining the army made her the black sheep - something that made her want to be all the more determined to do her best.
2. When Greavheart left the army, she also left - for a while. It was only realising that she was happiest (as much as she could be) in the army that she returned and strove to get to the highest position possible - to prove to him and to her that not everyone dies in the army.
3. As Queen (Lady?) Jade, her temper gets into some messes - behind doors. In front of people, she is the image of calm, the image of cool and detached monarchy. Behind doors, she's just as violent, loud, and passionate that she was during the war. Graveheart plays a heavy part in internal diplomacy.

Graveheart:
1. He and Mica were raised by their mother - his dad was killed in a mining accident. It's why both he and Mica sought out another path, both out of sadness and a hope that they wouldn't die like their dad did. When Mica died, he went to mining, because he realised that everyone would die no matter what - he might as well do what he knew the best.
2. Jade was his OTL. He never dated after he left the army, never even slept with anyone else. Although he assumed that they would never date again, he didn't want to date anyone else either - although he was asked several times.
3. Graveheart meant it when he declared himself content with being the leader of the Alliance, and just that. He never strives to be ruler and enjoys not only helping Jade out, but loves the challenge of balancing the five planets' peace. For the first time, he's proud of what he does, because for once, there is no death directly related to it.

Aw, really? I honestly thought I was the only one who figured Katara was a headcase. I think that's what makes her so interesting to me, you know? She walks the line of chaos and could tip over either way, and sometimes - for once - she wishes someone would just mother her (and is it weird that I sometimes see Suki doing that?).

[identity profile] ladyhadhafang.livejournal.com 2011-03-14 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I agree. I can definitely see her coming close at the beginning of Season Three. :( *Hugs her*

And I can see Suki mothering her/being a big sister to her. ^__^

[identity profile] yukinoomoni.livejournal.com 2011-03-14 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
BONUS HEADCANON:

Suki, despite being surrounded by women all her life, never really had a sisterly bond with any of them. With Katara, she does - especially as the years progress. Katara, who always wanted a sister, is also drawn to Suki - not only is she a normal, strong warrior, but she's a woman. Their different childhoods and different backgrounds bring them closer together as time goes on. BFFs or something.

[identity profile] ladyhadhafang.livejournal.com 2011-03-14 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
*Adds to headcanon* :D

Shoukei?

[identity profile] lavanyasix.livejournal.com 2011-03-14 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I've never bought into that 'Queen of Omashu' idea either. Toph doesn't strike me as the kind of person who'd have the initiative to be a good ruler. She was very complacent with her lot in life in her introductory episode, only eking out enough rebellion to earthbend as she liked, and didn't run away until her home life became completely intolerable.

Which actually makes for an interesting contrast with Aang. He runs away from his problems, or procrastinates and tries to ignore them. Toph just coasts on cruise control through life and doesn't take any chances until she's forced to.

Maybe that's why she never said anything to Sokka about her crush.

[identity profile] yukinoomoni.livejournal.com 2011-03-14 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Despite being sheltered all her life, while with Youko in Kei, she learns that she has a rather strong affinity for politics. People are disarmed by her beauty and assume way too much about her - to their peril.
2. She eventually makes peace with Gekkei - but it takes a long, long time. A loooong tiiiiime. As time goes on and she is exposed to real politics and her father's past, she swallows her pride and admits - even more than she ever had in-series - that she should have paid more attention to the peril of her country.
3. While she is forever sixteen (after being registered on the Registry of Wizards), she is less preoccupied with the worries of love - at least romantic love. Instead, she prefers the love of friends, deep and unwavering friendship-love, worth more to her than anything else.

Wow. Your perspective on Toph is just amazing. That's how I feel about her, too.

....that too.
