Writer's Block: Destined for greatness

We choose our own destinies.
I find it's easy for people to blame others, even celestial beings of undetermined origin, for the things that go wrong in their lives, instead of using those negative experiences to shape their character and appreciate the good things, however fleeting they may be.
The idea of destiny is so appealing, because it means that no matter what we do, we are destined from the start to do it, so everything we do is part of the tapestry of life. But I find that a lazy solution, despite how comforting it may seem.
I prefer the idea of being able to shape my own destiny with my own actions, so that it's less like predetermination, and more about what we want to become.
We choose our own destinies.
