Really? I always heard Ozai was indifferent to Zuko before then, at least starting around the events shown in "Zuko Alone" pre-Ursa vanishing...perhaps Ozai got so obsessed with winning his father's love that when Zuko proved to suck at Firebending he was like "look, Dad, I'm being mean to my firstborn child for sucking at Firebending!! Love me!!!". Otherwise he did seem to love his kids and was just...indifferent to their childish arguing. XD Or yelled at them both. "ZUKO! AZULA! IF YOU DON'T STOP FIGHTING THIS MINUTE WE'RE TURNING AROUND AND GOING HOME!"
You should be. T_T "Mai was a jerk when Zuko was trying soooo hard!", more like Mai just wanted him to relax and be himself and not whine over some moron hitting on her that she didn't like.
T_T And Ursa DID love her, Azula just seemed like she equated "Mom scolded me" to "Mom hates me".
