It's Friends List Appreciation Week!!!

(Well, for me it is, anyway.)

Because all of you are so awesome and amazing for having to put up with my daily histrionic babbling, I've decided to hold a Friends List Appreciation Week event here on my journal. Please comment with a request for one (or all) of the following:

-Name of a fandom, character and prompt, for a little ficlet written just for you;
-Question that you have been meaning to ask me but keep forgetting;
-Something that you have been meaning to tell me but haven't found the chance;
-A request for a good read, good listen, good show/movie, or good whatever;
-A nice compliment just for you!

There are no limits and no slots. This will be open for everyone on my friends list, for as long as it takes for everyone to participate if they would like! If I am unable to fill the ficlet request, you will be given a chance to make another request.

Okay! Go!

Aang/Mai/Suki: Trust, Part One

It was strange.

This was Mai's first thought, as she awoke to a bright sun shining on her eyes. She felt very warm and very comfortable, and it was only when she woke up a bit more that she realised why. She sandwiched between Suki and Aang beneath a mountain of blankets, and even then there was still a faint winter chill in the air. Naked skin touched naked skin, and as Suki sighed into her shoulder, Mai found herself squishing closer to Aang in order to bury her cold nose into his neck. He shifted, but didn't wake up, and again Mai felt oddly warm.

Neither one of them anticipated anything like this happening. After all, they had started hanging out together from very unhappy circumstances. No one was quite ready for anything romantic at the moment.

Or so they had thought.

It had started, oddly, with a play.

It was Aang's idea. About a month or so after they had come together nursing broken hearts, it was mutually decided that they needed to do something fun and happy. It was pretty easy to agree to this, especially since they had spent most of those weeks moping and raging at their situations - not very productive, in the long run.

"Well," Suki said, looking weary. She, like Mai, didn't really like going out in public too much, due to being semi-famous and probably publicly known as the lesser of two women. "Where do you think we could go that would cheer us up?"

Mai shrugged, looking at her nails. They were growing back, but some of them were still crooked - not even layers of nailpolish could hide how badly they had been chewed. "I would prefer no where in the Fire Nation, if you don't mind."

Aang scrunched up his face, seeming to also be at a loss of where to go without too much trouble.

Then his eyes lit up and he smiled. "What about a play?"

"I said outside of the Fire Nation," Mai answered instantly.

"Not every play is held within the Fire Nation," Suki said.

"Every good play is."

"No no, come on, that's not fair," Aang broke in, giving her a look that spoke of being tired of that kind of talk. Mai smirked, unable to keep it in, and Suki scowled at her, suddenly getting that she had been teased and had risen to the bait. She loved doing that to both of them, but Suki was probably the most amusing, since she always reacted.

"There are good players in the Earth Kingdom, too," Aang was saying. "There's Kabuki. Is there still Kabuki? I liked it."

Suki blinked. "I think so. It's not as popular as it used to be, so there aren't as many shows, but we could probably find at least one crew somewhere that does it."

"Kabuki?" Mai echoed. "I've never heard of it."

"Really?" Suki wondered mildly. "And I thought you knew everything."

Well, Mai had deserved that, after all. She returned Suki's barb with a smile, and the younger woman smiled back.

"Well, you'll love it," Aang said confidently. "It's awesome. It has fighting, romance, action, and really great costumes and makeup!"

Mai was still looking at Suki, who had gone pink at this. She didn't really understand why (later she would, but not then). "Sounds fine to me," Mai said, shrugging. "But how do we find a place that does it?"

Aang looked thrilled, now that they had a plan. "We just ask."
