Date: 2012-12-13 05:13 pm (UTC)I can't help it! It's a very clever series, beautifully done, and yeah some things are off, but I still love it! It's like the finale of the first series dslghsdlh

Date: 2012-12-16 03:56 am (UTC)My sister said something that really made me start to forgive him: he's a stupid teenaged boy. Teenagers, while stunningly mature in some instances, are also sometimes idiots when it comes to things like love. Plus, when Asami forgave him, it helped me to, too.

Date: 2012-12-13 05:16 pm (UTC)Personally, the kerfluffle about Bumi seems a bit much. I don't think that just because the character shares the name of a predecessor it automatically means they have that predecessor's personality. I personally think that Bumi senior managed to live long enough to spend a summer or two with Bumi junior and corrupted the hell out of him. Also I do think that Bumi loves to torment Tenzin and take him out of his comfort zones. And yes I got that all from barely twenty seconds of screen time.

Date: 2012-12-13 11:44 pm (UTC)Personally, I don't even think Mako's behavior would've been as irritating if he hadn't been presented as some sort of perfect Romeo. I mean, I love my flawed little bastards. But I only love them when their flaws are treated like flaws and they're called out on their shit and have to deal with the consequences. If they're being Jerkasses but passed off as Prince Charming, I'm more likely to want to throw rocks at the screen.

Date: 2012-12-14 04:44 am (UTC)Same here. I'm holding out hope that he'll either be knocked down a million pegs, called out on his bullshit, or realize on his own that his actions weren't justified. He definitely owes Asami an apology. At this present moment I cannot stomach him, but we'll see what Season 2 brings. I think he's redeemable, but it's gonna take work. :/

Date: 2012-12-16 03:53 am (UTC)I don't want to come off as someone who thinks the series is perfect, but I don't think it's as horrible as it is portrayed.
