I've been reading it in alot of fic lately, but honestly have no idea where it originates.

So I have to clarify it with all of you Avatards on my flist.

Toph's nickname for Zuko, "Sparky"... that's fanon, isn't it? Because for the life of me I can't recall her ever saying it.

And if it is, why is it used by the whole universe?! I mean, it works, totally, but, bzuh?

I think Hotspur may have come up with the phrase, but I'm not quite sure. I use it in my fanfictions because... hell, it's funny. It's a perfectly in character nickname for Toph to come up with and mildy degrading for him.

When I role-played Toph someone started addressing her as 'Earthy' and I guess it stuck.
