Length, or file size? Sometimes files are encoded in a way that wastes space, but failing that, I guess you could decrease the resolution...?

Save it in something smaller

Save them to .wmv files. Youtube will take them then. (Put them in Windows Movie Maker, that will automatically save them as .wmv files.)
