You know why women have long hair? It's not just to attract a mate or to be feminine or fabulous. It's not just because it's "easier" and is "low-maintenance" (which is bullshit).

It's because of the fucking sexist bullshit double-standard that salons have.

Men who get their haircut anywhere only get charged a third of what women are charged, no matter what length of hair they have. If a man and a woman went to the same salon and to the same stylist, with the same length of hair and asked for the same haircut, the women would get charged twice - or even three times - as much, no matter what.

FUCK YOU, SALONS. FUCK YOU AND YOUR SEXISM, YOUR DISGUSTING SEXIST BULLSHIT, YOUR REFUSAL TO BE EQUAL IN ORDER TO OVERCHARGE WOMEN FOR THE SAKE OF PROFIT.

I AM BOYCOTTING ALL SALONS UNTIL I CAN FIND ONE THAT DOES NOT HAVE SEXIST AND BULLSHIT PRICING. YOU FUCKING READ THAT RIGHT. ME, SOMEONE WHO LOVES TO HAVE SHORT HAIR, WILL NOT BE GETTING IT CUT UNTIL I SEE EQUAL PRICING FOR BOTH SEXES.

o_O That so isn't the case here. I haven't met a salon that charges men less for a haircut in my area. Actually, men around here complain because they generally have shorter hair and have to pay the same price for a cut as women who generally have long hair.

Although seriously, cutting your own hair or getting a friend to do it isn't as risky as it sounds :) My mum turned out to be surprisingly versatile with a pair of scissors, or in an emergency I cut my own hair.
