C. THE REASON HE IS AWESOMECAKES
Xellos has a distinct level of sheer brilliance in his character design. There is something about him that could be sociopathic if he lacked his specific personality. There's a sense of loyalty in him, to both Lina and Beastmaster, that is never seen again within the series. He's ridiculously powerful but when he's around Lina, he hardly uses any of it. You can tell that he's into life, and humans, for shits and giggles, and not quite about ending the world.
